Contract Manufacturing
Contract chemical processing has been a vital part of Dixie's operation since its inception in 1946. Dixie has a proven track record of successful, on-time startups of new contract manufacturing projects, enabling its customers to meet their market launch goals.
Companies working with Dixie are assured that their products will be manufactured in strict confidence and in a safe and efficient manner through the life cycle of the project. All plant personnel are required to complete 100+ hours of comprehensive EHSS and Operations Orientation Training. This is followed by process and equipment specific training before obtaining operator status. Plant personnel are also required to complete a 24 hour basic operations process technology course. This assures that everyone associated with a custom project is trained in safety, quality, operation, and environmental management. |

On each custom process, a complete hazard review and an operating manual, meeting all of the OSHA Process Safety Management regulations, are in place before start-up. In addition, a team consisting of process engineering, production engineering and research personnel are assigned to monitor the start-up on a 24-hour basis.
Dixie's professional staff works with its customers to find environmentally safe and approved process, including on-site recycling and reclamation activities and/or off-site disposal in the most cost effective manner possible. Of added benefit, Dixie's Bayport Industrial complex waste water is discharged to the nearby Gulf Coast Waste Disposal Authority for treatment and discharge.
