Name: William Doherty

Title: Chief Executive Officer

Mr. William H (Bill) Doherty joined Dixie Chemical in April, 2019 as Chief Executive Officer. Bill has been in the chemical and plastics industry for over 40 years. He started his career at GE Plastics, and then joined Axiall (formerly Georgia Gulf Corporation prior to the merger with PPG Chemicals Group) where he held various roles in the Company including Product and Business Management as well as General Manager and then Vice President of several divisions. He was then promoted to Senior Vice President and Corporate Officer of Axiall with responsibilities for all chemical and plastics operations, R&D, Procurement, Logistics, Specialty Division, Commercial and Planning functions. He also served as the Executive Vice President of the Lotte / Georgia Gulf Ethylene venture located in Lake Charles, LA. He has also served on several boards while at Axiall including TCI (Taiwan Chemical Industries) in Taiwan, and Axiall / Shriram based in New Delhi, India.

Bill earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Indiana Tech University, and has attended several executive programs at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Name: Mark Buckis

Title: Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Mark Buckis joined Dixie Chemical as Chief Financial Officer in May of 2018. He brings over 15 years of business leadership experience in the chemical and building products manufacturing industries.

Before joining Dixie, Mark was the Vice President and Corporate Controller of Axiall Corporation (formerly Georgia Gulf Corporation) from 2003 through 2017. During his tenure with Axiall, he was involved in all aspects of accounting and financial management and served as interim CFO from June of 2007 through February 2008. Prior to joining Axiall, he worked for 13 years in positions of increasing responsibility in KPMG, LLP’s audit practice in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Saint Vincent College, Pennsylvania, and a Master’s of Business Administration in accounting and finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Name: Karana Shah

Title: Vice President of Technology

Dr. Karana Shah joined Dixie Chemical in 2013 as Technical Services Manager and was promoted to Vice President of Technology in 2016. Prior to joining Dixie, she worked for Zoltek (Toray group), a global manufacturer of carbon fiber, where she supported advanced composites in the the Composite Intermediates product line. Products she worked on included pultruded profiles and prepreg. Dr. Shah also previously worked for Evonik Jayhawk Fine Chemicals as Technical Service Marketing Manager for Specialty Anhydrides, and for TAMKO Building Products as a Research and Development Engineer for thermoplastic advanced composites. Dr. Shah earned her BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI . She earned her Ph.D. in Polymer Composites from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.

Name: William Snyder

Title: Senior Vice President of Sales

Mr. William (Buck) Snyder joined Dixie Chemical Company as Vice President of Sales of Fuel & Lubricants / Functional Fluids in December 2015.  Buck has a strong background in engineering; sales and marketing; and supply chain management with more than 20 years in the chemical industry.  Prior to joining Dixie, Buck served as National Account Manager at TPC Group, principally supporting the lubricant industry.  Prior to TPC Group, Buck served at Phillips Petroleum and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company with progressive responsibilities from chemical engineer, operations manager, and later sales and marketing for various commodity and specialty chemicals.  He served an overseas assignment in supply chain management for Saudi Polymers Company, a joint venture between Chevron Phillips and a Saudi Arabian investment company.  Buck is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a BS in Chemical Engineering and MBA in Finance.  He is responsible for the sales and business management of Dixie Chemical Company.

Name: Mark Barta

Title: Director, Procurement and Financial Planning & Analysis

Mr. Mark Barta joined Dixie Chemical Company as Director, Financial Planning & Analysis in January 2017. In May 2019, he assumed the additional responsibility for Procurement, and joined the Senior Leadership Team as well as the newly formed Commercial Leadership Team. His responsibilities include procurement of raw materials, pricing strategy, portfolio optimization, budgeting, forecasting, and business analytics.

Mark brings nearly twenty years of commodities market experience to Dixie, through various procurement, finance, and proprietary trading roles at companies such as Koch Industries, Duke Energy, and Cinergy Corp. His industry experience spans across specialty chemicals, coal, ocean freight, iron ore, and power generation. Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from The University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Purdue University.

Name: Kevin Patrick Harren

Title: Director of Environmental Health and Safety

Mr. Kevin Patrick Harren joined Dixie Chemical as Director of Environmental Health and Safety in August of 2019. He brings over 15 years of environmental, health and safety leadership experience in the chemicals and refining industries.
Before joining Dixie, Kevin was the Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety at TPC Group’s Port Neches Operations from 2015 through 2019. During his tenure at TPC, Kevin assumed increasing levels of leadership responsibility to eventually include all aspects of environmental compliance, management of the facility Process Safety Management program as well as leadership of the facility health, safety and security programs. Prior to joining TPC, Kevin also served with progressive responsibilities at Arkema in Beaumont, Texas and Valero in Paulsboro, New Jersey and Port Arthur, Texas.

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Kevin currently sits on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Mid and South Jefferson County.

Name: Alexander Grous

Title: Business Manager

Mr. Alexander (Alex) Grous joined Dixie Chemical Company as Technical Sales Support in September 2011. Since joining, he has held various roles in Research & Development, Engineering, and Business Development. Alex also has commercialized over a dozen technologies and has managed award-winning international projects. Alex joined the Senior Leadership Team in May 2019, with responsibilities that include: total Profit & Loss, strategy development, and implementation of business plans to support the growth and future of the business.

Alex earned both his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA) in 2011, and he completed his Master of Business Administration from Rice University (Houston, TX) in 2017.
